Re-gift : to take a gift that you get, and give it to someone else.

I sure did. I already had a copy of American Pie 2 DVD, and well, I just gave it to my friend as an imprompt xmas gift. Anyone else do anything like that?

Heh... The baton always stops at me. I love Fruitcake!

I've never re-gifted. It would just feel cheap - like I cheated the greedy stores out of a religious holiday or something.

Mrs. Tallgeese thinks re-gifting should be an Olympic event...cuz she would TOTALLY 0WN the sport!

I only re-gift if the two people don't know each other, and most likely will never meet each other.

I don't want to have to explain why Mr. X is wearing the sweater that Mrs. Y gave me.

Just got married a couple of months ago and they gifts we were not able to return are going out this xmas. The only problem is making sure that what I got from my side of the family doesn't make it back to my side and the same for hers.

There is a theory that there's only one fruitcake, passed from relative to relative, friend to friend, each holiday season.

Over here it's the big blue tin of Danish Butter Cookies.......... hard as a rock and the ones with the granulated sugar on them will rip the roof of your mouth off :Q

We once marked a tin and we got it back 2 years later :p

That's just wrong.

No it's not. Fruitcake is made to last for long periods of time. I think I remember reading about a fruitcake being eaten 20 years after it was made.

My sister used to steal things from me 2 weeks before Xmas, wrap them up and then give them to me. I never noticed anything was missing. One year, I was missing one of my baseball caps for a while. On Xmas day, I unwrapped a gift and guess what it was...my hat! :p She cracks me up. :D

I got some candle/lamp thing at my work xmas party last year. It was actually pretty nice, but... well, girly. So I gave it to this female friend of mine. She was happy, and I saved myself 50 bucks...
