I played high school basketball against some pretty dominant players, a couple who went on to play in college. However, as far as I know, no one I played basketball (or baseball) against went on the the pros.

Have you ever played high school sports against someone who went pro? Did you shut them down or did they school you? Tell your story.

You are such an idiot. You should just give up posting anything but cop-hating threads.

Guys who go on to play major college basketball are dominant in high school.

I played with/against several guys that were drafted by MLB teams but I'm not aware of any that actually made it all the way to the big leagues.

I played hockey with a player that went on to the NHL (Brent Ashton), but I can't recall playing against anyone that went on to greatness.

Brent Kenneth Ashton (born May 18, 1960) is a retired professional ice hockey player who spent fourteen seasons in the National Hockey League between 1979 and 1993. Despite being a fine goalscoring winger, he was known during his career for being the most-traded player in the history of the NHL, a record since tied by Mike Sillinger.

I've played a couple games of horse with my brother-in-law who entered the NBA draft about 8 years ago. He didn't get picked up, but he has played some d-league ball. He's good.

Yes, Drew Brees.

It was my junoir year of highschool and we were in the State Quater Finals. Brees was the quaterback for Austin Westlake and we played in the AlamoDome in San Antonio; first time most of us had played on turf.

He destroyed us, as the saying goes, like a men among boys. He also had avery good reciever who went on to play a Navy and then a year or two in the pros, but I can never remember his name. Our secondary didn't stand a chance.

Edit: I have also played chess against Rasheed Wallace. My buddy and I went to a bar during the week the night after a Spurs game. The was pretty empty and they had cheese tables inlaid in the bar and you got pieces form the bar tender. He walks up, asks if we want to play and we agreed. He kicked both our asses.

not me but a hockey teammate played against Rob Scuderi (now with the LA Kings). He was born the year following us in the next town over so the story apparently checks out. I started too late to play anything in HS.

A couple of the guys from my school went on to play rugby for Wales.

I was pretty skinny at school so it didnt go to well.

I remember I did ankle tap one of the bigger guys and prevent him from getting a try. That game probably went worse than most! :(

Played high school football against a guy that went on to a bit of NFL fame named Chris Collinsworth. He played QB in high school. Our team crushed his, but we had one of the top-ranked teams in the state of Florida at the time.

Yea, in high school volleyball. I play defense, let me tell you, when you're on the line and you see a guy go up with no block, and he's been known to hit the ball hard enough to split it at the seams....its not fun.

Not anywhere near sports, but Jimmy Fallon grew up down the street from me. His parents are still in the same house, so I'll see him every once in a while there.

Yes, Chris Dingman (NHL player from 1996-2008) used to destroy those of us smaller than he on the basketball court.

few who play in the EPL

Who? Are they bench warmers? Most US players who get playing time in the EPL are pretty big news, imo.

I played against some who went to the USL, but I don't think I've played anyone who actually went big. They were a little better than me skill wise, but not monumentally so at that time. The biggest difference, I think, was fitness.

My HS football team was knocked out of the playoffs my senior year by the team Michael Clayton played for. He went on to play for LSU and I think is with the Giants now. They kicked our asses IIRC. I played noseguard, so I didn't really get to go up against him.
