...the amount of people texting/looking at their phone lately.

Few weeks back I was taking a left and peaked over at the line of cars as I was passing....

Car 1- texting
Car 2 - reading the phone
Car 3 - same as #1
Car 4- checking the phone

Every since then I've been paying more attention then usual at people driving and noticed TONS of people driving and reading their phone.

Scary....

And I'm not talking teenagers/young kids here. Mostly adults.

Yep. It;s pretty much the norm these days. People can't be without their phones for more than 5 consecutive seconds.

Whenever I'm behind the wheel, my cell phone is always in the glove box.

I remember walking one day. I saw three cars stop at a stop sign in a residential area. All three had people talking on their phones.

People cannot go even 5 minutes without the comfort of their phone.

Yeah this is my favorite thing to do when I am a passenger, sometimes I even keep tallies of who is actually driving to who is driving distracted, and it is always majority distracted. I count stuffing your face as distracted driving, nose picking is kind of on the fence. Anyways, it is no surprise insurance rates keep going up and amazing traffic deaths have gone down.

That's a good idea, I usually just put mine in the cup holder and ignore it when it rings. I like to use mine for music, which I have been guilty of looking down to switch a song I really am not in the mood for. I also eat frequently on the road, because I travel so much for my job I just can't stand being in some rinky dink midwest town not moving towards home.

I soooo want to take pics of people I see doing this on the parkway and then post them on a website full of similar pics. The biggest problem is that I can't really use my camera phone while driving on the parkway.

The way I see it if they are sitting at a red light it's not a big deal to sneak a peak or type a short message. When the light turns green however the phone screen better be locked.
