Have you ever lost a contact lens in your eye?

im not sure whether or not if i lost it in my eye or not. last night i took one out, and then i tried to take the second out but as i tried to put it out, i pulled it out fast, but i dont know if i had it and i pulled it out too fast and it fell off my fingers, or if i pushed it on the inside of my eye. is that a myth that it can stay there for several years? i read that on the net. i feel something in my eye, but it isnt bothering me. i also slept on it over night, and i feel no irritating. would it start to get irritated after a while? would it get infected? please help i dont want to have a contact lens stuck in my eye for several years.

I had a friend who went to an opthamologist to have one extracted once. If it's stuck it will most likely descend by itself if you give it time, why don't you try going for a jog and see if you can dislodge it? It won't get infected. The eye washes out infections and keeps itself prety clean. It may get ...what are those called?... those things like eye boogers that build up on contacts if you wear them to long? It may get those and cause an irritation. I doubt it's serious. If your eye starts to bother you go to your opthamologist.

i honestly dont know whether or not if its stuck in my eye or not. im not too sure. how can i know for sure. i feel something, but its only when i move my eye one way. also it doesnt bother me. ERR

My cousin did that once, he lost it inside his eye ... It apparently went up above his eye and inside him... He went to the eye doctor and they said not to worry about it... I don't quite know all the details of it, but I do know the doctor said it wasn't a big deal, so I wouldn't get too crazy about it.

i disagree
we are talking soft right? if they were hard, you'd know for sure
GENTLY try to move your eye around to contact the lens and bring it out
other than that, see your doctor/get your mother/somebody you trust explicitly to look at your eye while you move it around GENTLY
you do not want to scratch the cornea
good luck

edit: whyn't look and see if you can find the missing lens

Nah never lost one in the eye but I had them in for a week once when I was doing my military service and they kinda got stuck.
Well back from the excercice (spelling?) I was going to take the lenses out and they were stuck, when they finally starting to get loose they made this cracking sound and I almost didnt dare to remove them beacuse i was afraid my eye would be damaged.
Lesson learned, so now I dont have them in for more than 2 days.

I had a girlfriend who lost about 1/5th of a contact in her eye (it ripped) her eye was irritated for about a week afterwards.. Never knew where that piece went either!

I've gotten a couple stuck up in my eyelids. You'll know if it's there or not. It'll just feel really weird and it may hurt a little.

You can rub it out by rubbing your eyelid in a downward motion if it's on the bottom and upward if it's stuck on the bottom. Don't worry as it won't go any further back into your head because it can only go so far and will probably just remain under your eyelid.

I got a contact lens lodged pretty far up in my eye once. I didn't feel it in there so I thought I lost it. I put another contact lens in there. I went around for two days with that lens lodged up in my eye but finally it came out by itself.

I did this one time, I thought it had fallen out, but that evening as I was washing my face, I splashed some water in it and I blinked and bam, suddenly vision was clear in one eye... so maybe you can try splashing water in there to make it come down.

My bf had his stuck in his eyes. He actually thought it popped out and lost it when he was trying to remove it. Turns out that the lens got lost in his eye. Eventualy it came out when he was sleeping. He just felt something and took it out 😉
