I just came back from my gf's graduation, it's 1:15am now and I can't sleep... Everyone's asleep at home and I'm alone in front of my comp with one lamp luminating this lonely basment. And this got me in the mood for some chills on my back. Here we go.

Have you ever had any paranormal encounters or experiences? ghosts? or something just down right strange/abnormal?

I think I did once when I was 9 or 10. My memory serves me correctly that it was unreal, but being so young at that age brings doubt that it was probably all in my head. Or was it?

I went hiking with two of my older friends. they were probably 12 and I must've been 9 or 10. We were just walking around the local trails in the woods and those bastards thought it would be funny to run away from me, leaving me by myself. So they did. I quickly panicked and started crying and all of a sudden i heard this LOUD, excruciating, girl's SCREAM. I still vividly remember, it was at a constant pitch that freaked the hell out of me. And it wasn't coming from a certain direction, it was as if the screaming was right next to my ear, wherever i went. I FREAKED OUT and started running instinctively to the exit to the trail. I ran and ran and ran in tears...

Finally I was out of the woods and i was in my neighborhood, popluated with people walking around.. My eyes were puffy from crying and one of my friend said to me, what's wrong with your knees? I looked down and saw that it was all bloody.

So that's my story. I'm sure the screaming was probably from panicking.. but it was strange indeed. And the bleeding on the knees was possibly from tripping over while running outrangeously, although i clearly remember I never tripped once while i was running

But then again I was 9. :frown:

It's your turn to entertain the rest of ATOTers. Please share your strange experiences. It has to be something private that you went through personally....

Time to get me some popcorn ;)

a week ago I had a dream more real than life itself. in this so called dream I woke up and was in my room i walked over to my window and looked out and people started yelling aliens! i pinched myself and didn't wake up. i saw a alien spacecraft flying outside my appartment and it sort of looked like the one from star wars ep2 at the end with the big bright engines on the side. it landed and two humans came out and looked at me a father and son and the son stayed there and the father left. I ran to my bed and this is about the time I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep that night for at least an hour. It was weird. it made me question whether i'm in a constant dream while living my life.

why is it that ghosts seem to love houses that are multimillion dollars and seculted from everyone instead of a 1 bed 1 bath appartment?

Which would you prefer to haunt? :p

I had lots of paranormal 'encounters', but it turned out that I was hallucinating due to a neurological disorder. :D I still have them, but I know what they are...now. For a while there, I was fit for a rubber room.

There is one experience I had when I was about 12 and another person saw the same thing. Weird lights, very weird lights in the sky at night. There were about seven lights in all, and they fluttered and moved in a peculiar way.

If I had to reproduce the lights we both saw, I would strap a battery operated light to seven geese and make them fly in a V-formation at night. How I would get them to do that...I don't know. But, the lead goose would break from the formation every 10 seconds and take a position at the rear, while the next goose would just move into the lead position.

That's what the lights did, that's what we both saw. I don't believe in aliens or any other such nonsense, but I haven't a clue what could have been responsible for what this. The really weird thing, is that I was watching a show about UFOs several years ago, where they showed a dozen or so home video recordings of various UFOs. One of these videos was identical to what I saw. This was years later, and I had really forgotten about it, but when I saw that video, I was like "Holy Cow that is exactly what I saw once!"

a few years ago in the winter my father was driving me down a highway near where we live, it was dark. In the distance, above the road I noticed three bright white streaks turning in a circle and slowly moving across the sky, I asked him what he thought it was, and he wasnt sure either.

As we got closer we saw a kid on a bike cycling across a bridge, ah well.

I remember about 4 years ago when my mother passed away a strange thing happened to me. The following early morning after the funeral, my eldest daughter(six year old-then) woke me up early in the dark and told me that she had a dream about grandma and that she had a message for me. I was going thru some tough times financially and having some employee problems and the message was this- don't worry, everything will turn out fine. This was the first time and only time that both my daughters woke me up in the middle of the night to talk to me unless they were sick or scared.

The following morning at breakfast time, I asked my daughter if she remembered waking me up a few hrs. earlier. She said that she slept like a baby and swears that she never left her bed...

This IMO doesn't count as a PARANORMAL ENCOUNTER but.

Several years ago I was fishing on the river and as dusk was approaching I looked up into the sky and WAY WAY up there I saw something triangular moving along the sky. It was blue, but just a few shades lighter than the rest of the sky. I must have watched it for a good 10 min. It was slow moving and never changed it's course.

Another time during the period that Haley's Comet could be viewed, my then girl friend and I drove way up into the mountains (To get away from the city lights) to look for the comet. Well we were in a kind of valley with mountain peaks on both sides and we see this ball of bluish white light coming towards us moving REAL fast. As it got closer, it looked like there was something tumbling inside of it. It was close to the ground, and well below the mountain peaks. We watched it as it came closer and as it passed us, we could see a sparkly glittery trail that it left behind. We could see it as it approached and when it was right in front of us, but could no longer see it as it moved away. I'm sure it was some kind of natural phenomena, but to this day I still have NO idea WHAT it was.
