Have you ever genuinely liked a politician?

I genuinely liked liked Carter, he was a good person. He wanted to legalize marijuana and signed in the Alaska Lands act and of course Camp David. His downfall was the failed hostage raid.

John Fetterman, the mayor of Braddock, Pennsylvania. Yeah, I like this guy.

If you have any interest at all in what's happening in the rust belt and in towns that were once prosperous and have fallen on hard times. He's running now for lieutenant governor, and I can easily see him one day as either Pennsylvania's governor or a member of the US senate.

Starts in the small places, seems like genuine down to earth person, like his boots too.

That's Rob Ford, he was the loudmouth mayor of Toronto back in 2010 that got caught smoking crack on video. He was so bad at his job that the council basically stripped him of all power he had. His brother Doug somehow just won the Conservative leadership and is favored to win the Ontario Provincial election , our only hope is that his handlers let him to talk , every time he opens his mouth he loses votes but he's still ahead by a lot.

I liked the mayor of the last town I lived in. He was a former police chief, and actually seemed to give a damn about fixing the crime problem in that town. He was fighting an uphill battle, though... the town is broke, and most people just don't seem to give a shit about cleaning it up.

I miss that place, but don't miss the graffiti or my car being broken into.

I guess the only presidential ones I can think of that I came close to liking are Carter, Bill Clinton (NOT Hillary), and Obama. As a libertarian sort, I don't share many political views with any of them and only voted for one of them, but they all seemed like decent fellows if they were in a different industry.

On a local (GA) level, I liked Zell Miller and Paul Coverdell.

On a personal level (not that we've ever met), I liked Carter, Reagan, and Obama. Carter is a real dichotomy in that I think he was a genuinely good man and a piss poor president.

I'm still disappointed we didn't get Bill Clinton as First Laddie :)

More seriously, there have been a few Washington state politicians from both parties that I've approved of, though "liked" might be too strong of a word.

I get the feeling that I'd get along well with Carter, GW Bush, Obama, and Bernie. As far as liking what they do, probably Mattis, Colin Powell, and Tom Wheeler if they count.

My next door neighbor is an elected councilman for the city I live in. I like him. He's a genuinely nice guy.

If we're going to that level :), one of my former college roommates is running for city council in his city. He was a nice enough guy in college though a bit self-centered, but he has become a tremendous city leader and does a ton of volunteer work for a number of causes.

I really hope NDP makes it in. The other two options are both terrible. I'm actually considering voting for NOP but they are small and too new, I don't think they're going to get much votes.

You smoked too much weed if you think NDP can win.
