Not because it's cold out, but as a defense mechanism your body automatically invoked?
There are 3 responses available to an animal (and that includes humans): 1) Fight 2) Flight and 3) Freeze - It can aid in the animal's escape by fooling it's prey, and if that won't work, it will keep you from feeling any pain if the prey starts to rip your throat out. It's something your reptilian brain does, you have no control over it.
I can think of 2 instances when my body has frozen, both when I was around 10 yrs old.
#1: Some a-hole's attack dog bit me
#2: I heard someone open the door to my house, called out, but no one answered
So what has happened to you that made you freeze?
