Have you ever called a number you found on the internet

Back around 2002 or 2003,,, back when limewire and kazza were popular, I found a document someone had in their shared folder.

The letter was someone asking their friend if they wanted to go somewhere on friday or saturday, and a phone number. So I called the phone number.

A nice lady answered, I asked for the guys name, and she said something like "yes, he is here, hang on",,,.

What struck me as odd, was how excited the lady acted over someone calling for her son. The mom sounded like she had popped a handful of happy pills, and quickly got her son on the phone. I was thinking "wow, this kid must not have any friends".

I said hi, and asked if he knew the person in the letter, and asked about the weekend plans,,,, he denied all of it and did not sound interested.

We said our good-byes, hung up, and I never called him back.

My wife got a good laugh out of the whole situation.

I have called back in the dialup days when a chick gave me her phone number in a chat room in the middle of the night. I remember having to disconnect from chat to call her. When I called the Dad answered, yelled at me and hung up, so I never got to talk to her.

Just so you know, after you hung up I *69'd the number and your wife picked up. I met her at a motel the next day. We got a good laugh out of the whole situation.
