i average a keyboard a month...computer at work is really slow, so I break about one mouse a month there "dag nab it computer....hurry up!!!!" (slams mouse on desk)
CD burner tray (its broke in one place- still works), and a crashed drive ( I smashed it with a hammer after it wasn't fixable). Oh yea, a keyboard too.
i broke my desk
the part that slides out that holds the keyboard, i slammed my fist onto it one day and it bent the slider and broke the particle board
cheapo wally world desk, but now i have the sliding part wedged in and its somewhat stable.
Never broke any this way, but a friend of mine fixed a very irritating problem by slamming my video card into the slot one time, a while back. Just glad it didn't break.
Edit: Oh, and my roommate fragged his mouse recently...he upgraded to the Logitech MX700 for ~$80, so I don't see him doing it again in the forseeable future.
Have you ever broken hardware out of frustration?
-----------------------------------
Only when I feel that the inanimate object has proved itself somehow superior to me, which is quite frequently.
my Nokia 6160 (stupid x-girlfriend)
nintendo controller
Snake's Revenge for nintendo cartridge
2 super nintendo controllers
computer joystick (back in the ol' 286 days)
3 computer keyboards
2.1 Altec Lansing speakers
4 mice
watch (Timex Triathalon - back in the day)
about 100 cds.. all of which were AOL cds, coasters, or expensive software
Dell server motherboard (500 SC)
power supply - that one smashed apart quite nicely
27" TV.. the piece of crap quit working.. so I worked the piece of crap
2 powerstrips
300VA ups
damn.. there's a lot more stuff that I can't think of right now
I need anger management... or to be convinced that hardware doesn't feel pain when you crunch it.
one time i kicked my computer because i was frustrated with c++. i kicked it so hard that it turned off and wouldn't turn back on. i fixed it pretty quickly though.
usually when i get frustrated i throw my mouse at the wall. just a gentle heave. one time i winged it at the wall and the buttons got all wacked-out of place. I fixed it by throwing it at the wall again (i'm serious, it worked perfectly after that)
I have also pounded my keyboard several times, sending keys flying all about.
