Have you ever bought the same movie twice, because a special edition came out?

I just bought the new GoodFellas DVD set, even though I have the original DVD.
I also have the orginal versions of all the LOTR movies and then I bought the EE's.

Waiting for the LOTR super extended edition gift set.

If the matrix was 10 discs, this could be like 15.

Sure . . . the first two LOTR films, Tombstone . . . I'm sure there are others but I'm trying to remember.

Director's cuts actually pissed my girlfriend off . . . we watched the first two LOTR films before seeing Return of the King (EEs, of course) and when she found out they were the long versions . . . look out, man. ;)

I don't buy any movie if there is a good chance that it will be available with a better edition.
If in doubt, rent.

Nightmare Before Christmas, one of my all time faves. Elfman + Burton = genius.

I gave the plain version to a friend, so I didn't really mind.

I'm considering buying the theatrical versions of LotR, to go along with the extended versions.

Sorta.

I own a few movies on both VHS and DVD.

I have also bought a few books only to get them home and find I've already read them.:eek:

There's absolutely no need to do that. The EE has everything that's in the theatrical version, plus much more.

As much as i am sick of gainax regurgitating same thing over and over, i would buy eva renewal if i had $$$ :| (code2 of course) its defeinitely worth it : improved constrast ratio / refined drawings / flicker fix alone make it worth 'upgrading', well almost... not at the MSRP of ¥39800

I have to really like the movie a lot. Then I don't mind at all. For example, I own 3 copies of amadeus (vhs, old dvd, new dvd).

I usually end up in the store buying the 'special edition' and wondering if there was ever actually a 'not special' edition!

I don't think I'd buy one twice htough, I've never found much use for the special features.
