Have you ever bothered to use the computer SUSPEND feature?

I either leave it on all the time, or turn it off completely. What's the point of suspending?

Mine's on 24/7. Most I do is have my monitors go into power save after 15 minutes of inactivity. My PC itself doesn't use that much power.

hibernation for secondary pc's. standby for laptops for quick resume. hibernation for laptops when i won't be back for a while. its more importnat now that windows is stable enough that we don't have to reboot everyday... so apps and stuff are left open for days at a time.

Suspend turns off all "unecessary" stuff (hdd, monitor...) but the machine still draws power for the memory etc...

Hibernate dumbs the memory to hdd and completely shuts down. Next time you start, it will write the file to memory and you continue where you left off...

On my laptop, yes. I use it everday in fact. If I'm going to be leaving my laptop for a while (and I don't need to download anything), I put it on suspend so that when I come back I can just tap a key and it comes back to life. The only time I use hibernate is when I'm transporting my laptop.

I never use "Shutdown"

PC only uses like 110W.. Turn off the monitor, and it hardly uses any power at all.

I usue suspend all the time on my laptop, never get around to turning it fully off so when i'm gonna take it anywhere i just suspend it. Suspend turns just about everything off bar the RAM refresh so it can last for days and days in that mode.

Nope. I don't even know what it does.

Try half-caff. I drink Maxwell House Lite so I don't get migraines.
I can still drink two pots a day and no problems.

i set my laptop settings to "always on" ... except when i am traveling more heavily than normal.
