Nah, I started blacking out during a spinal tap once (bye bye spinal fluid) - but kept my awareness. Also inhaled some oxygen.

I have been under anesthesia several times and also collapsed once. When I collapsed, I was actually in a hospital and I don’t remember anything but waking up and the nurses trying to get my blood sugar back in line. I had fasted that day and the night before for lab work and didn’t go to the lab until late in the day.

Anesthesia a few times for wisdom teeth and a surgically implanted screw in my wrist. I also have several hours permanently missing from memory due to brain trauma resulting from a mountain biking accident.

I've had two surgeries in the past. Both times I was out. It wasn't bad. They knock you out, and you wake up an hour or two later.

I don't consider anesthesia as being unconscious. (even though, technically I suppose you are.)
