Saw that on the news this morning, dang that was dirty wasn't it!
I hope he gets convicted of Assault 2 and banned for life from boxing. Only a pu$$y would whine about losing fair and square by sucker punching a guy like that. And yes, I hope he's reading this. :D

Man, that's just wrong. He really capped that poor guy. Did you see the blood streaming out of his mouth as they laid him down onto the canvass? Damn. Prolly bust at least one tooth. :( I hope they ban that @sshole.

He broke his jaw.
Luckily no permanent damage. Butler must punch like a girl if he can't even knock out a guy with bare taped knuckles. No wonder he lost! I like that Grant guy, I suppose he was too stunned to go after Butler, but it still showed some restraint to not go after him.

what exactly is it that constitutes a "sucker" punch as opposed to just a regular ol' Plain jane punch? :)

Sucker punch meaning not expected and the person being punched is not on gaurd by any means.

Jesus what a lunatic. He should be kicked out of boxing - entirely. He should never box again.

okay, now that I know, yes I have been sucker punched. In the stomach however. It still hurt like hell tho. And no, I didn't return the favor. I was told not to hit girls.

Yep, several times while working concert security. Outdoor shows and big arena shows aren't a problem, it's the smaller clubs and their mosh pits that can get nasty to deal with. You go in to try and clear something up, and invariably some other wisea$$ tries to come to the rescue of whomever you are trying to restrain. We do our best to make sure that paybacks are a b!tch for the offenders though ... ;)

This is one of those times where we can see how the brain can come into physical damge... stuff doesn't hurt nearly as much if you know that it's coming and can prepair for the impact... hell, thats half of boxing right there. If you were walking down the mall and saw a famous boxer and wailed him a good one, you could probably knock the guy out. Half of it is mental.

Honest to god, when I was like 12, I got into a fight with a guy, and it was kind of a draw, I made a gesture to shake hands and make up, and when he shook my hand, I floored him with the other one. He wasn't a bad guy, and I was a jerk. But that is the joy of youth, you can get away with stuff like that. We made up BTW.

I learned that move from Ric Flair. My boyhood hero.

Who was it that mentioned in a thread a few days ago that he'd been sucker punched by a fifteen year old girl, who left him rolling around gasping for breath while she teased him about it?

Yeah, when I was a bouncer in a club at the south Jersey shore. SOB caught me totally off guard. Unfortunately for him, I got up. :frown:
