I have been. Was for a situation at work (local gov't agency v. local gov't agency). I now *hate* having to testify in court... answering questions truthfully, even when they're extremely poorly phrased by the attorney asking the questions, is a pain in the ass. It's more fear of unintentionally giving an answer which can be interpreted multiple ways. Since both the plaintiff and defendant had the power to fire me (with or without reason), demote me, or worse, I was a little scared.

That said, I think that the most annoying part of it was that the judge ordered that I be isolated during the trial, prior to my testimony. I sat in the freaking jury room, alone, for hours and hours. I was not terribly amused... though I did catch up on my sleeping.

Either we get sued or the government decides to play the overbearing regulator again. The former is almost certain to happen eventually.
