Just recently I was contacted by someone I don't know because apparantly I had a portion of my Yahoo! profile that said that I played bass guitar. Which I do. But a person in the area I guess was searching for bass players on the net and found me, and I was in the area. I'm now about to join a band and I was discovered over the internet... how about that for cool? has anyone been contacted over the internet like I have? wether it be for a band, job or anything else interesting? I kind of find it freaky because I haven't met this person yet.

some guy e-mailed me and wanted to know how it was working at one of my past jobs....he found my resume on the net

it was weird, cause he REALLY wanted a phone interview, but i insisted on e-mail. so we corresponded several times and our relationship ended with him giving me his info and telling me if i ever need a "reference" for a resume, that they can call him.....interesting

so anyway, kinda weird, but turned out ok.

they initially e-mailed me and now I'm talking to them over AOL instant messenger.... I'm going to check out some of their gigs at a local coffee house which has open mic every sunday nights... they do mainly classic rock.. my only beef with them is that the lead singer is a girl (not that that is bad), but there aren't many classic rock bands that where successfull that had a woman lead singer, that I know of anyways.

I have had a guy threatning me like a psycho for the last few months that he was going to turn me into the fbi for being a pedophile and he uses anonymous emails and talks all this stuff about how they are going to kill me in prison and the fbi will kick my door down and stuff.

Im worry free as far as those charges are concerned but its scary. I do webhosting on my own colocated server and im sure somebody found a porn site they didn't like or are one of those religous psychos and emailed me cause the domains are using my nameservers of course and im the technical contacts.

He never responds to my questions as to what hes talking about just mouths off about how hes come by my house, he'll turn me into the fbi, he did turn me into the fbi. he just last week started the whole cycle over again.

Back when I was using aol, yes, AOL. Anyway, back in the day.... hehe, it rhymes! Damn, I need to go to sleep. Stayed up too late yesterday and I'm on the same track today. Some people would just IM me out of nowhere. When I asked them how they got my handle, they just said they did a search through profiles and found a similar interest. Damn, people need lives.

All the time. Dummies find my website about my car and email me asking all sorts of questions, where to find parts, how to fix this, how to do that. I'll respond to the folks that sound like they have a brain with more than 10 functioning brain cells. I've actually added a little disclaimer on my webpage saying I won't answer stupid questions.

About a month after I stopped looking for a job I got 3 calls in a week from recruiters looking for people. After 3 months of submitting resumes and calling people and interviews and crap. 3 people call wanting to hire me, and they were looking for more people to hire.

I've never signed up to a mailing list that I personally don't know the person who runs it. and none of them sell thier address lisitings.

I get about 400 piece of junkmail a week. you should see the amount of filters I set up.
I have hundreds of filters. and they all say &quot;if this address&quot; then &quot;delete&quot;


the funny thing is that when I do &quot;have to&quot; give an address for someone like to install real player I use a fake email addy so it bounces.

but yet i'm getting spammed all to hell.
