Have you ever been contacted by someone because of these school reunion web sites?

I found a girl I used to date in high school but they wanted me to join to get her e-mail address. While it would have been kind of cool to send her an e-mail and see what she's been up to I didn't think it was worth the cost of a subscription.

Hell, I'm coming up on my 20 year reunion. I'm not flying to New York just to see a bunch of people I haven't talked to in 20 years though.

I was contacted through Classmates.com by a former classmate. As it turned out, we both moved about 1,500 miles from where we grew up and he's now about 70 miles from where I live and lives in the same state as me. Other than that, I haven't received any other contacts. But, do keep mind, that a site such a Classmates.com will only release the E-mail addresses to paid members. I'm not a paying member there and I suspect many of my other fellow classmates are not either. However, the former student that got in touch with me was a member, so he got my E-mail address.

Anybody I want to keep up with from H.S. I can figure out where they are through family friends, etc. But there aren't many of those ... H.S. sucked.

Yes, actually. Four years ago when I was a freshman in college, I got an email from someone I graduated with. I knew him in H.S., talked to him some, but we weren't close friends by any stretch of the imagination. I was kind of surprised to get an email from him. I tried to email back, but for a reason I can't even remember anymore, I couldn't get the email to send and then I guess I forgot about it. I felt kinda bad.

Edit: But the people I was really close with in H.S. I still talk to on an almost-daily basis on AIM and are my two best friends.
