Have you ever been burned by Yelp?

I wondering what peoples' experiences with yelp have been. Do you find that customers actually read that site? If someone says something negative does it make other reviewers say similar things?

There was that place that called the cops on the college students that didn't tip, I think their Yelp page took a beating from all over.

damn they got hammered. this one threw in everything:


"I order the burger medium. It came our rare. The bread had mold on the bun. The fries wer so greasy I could not eat them. The coke from the tap was flat. They said they didn't pay the bill to the vendor so they did not have any cO2. The server was great although her breath and uniform smelled like she had just been smoking. Do most servers chew gum when they're working? She did. The floor was dirty. The restroom was filthy and during my meal that had someone arrested for not paying a tip I think. When I complained to the owner, he added a 44% tip on my bill."

yelp could totally ruin a business.
