What happens if you get it and don't know, and never get treated? WIll it just go away??? or stay with you until treated?
Your body could fight it off early on. Otherwise, if not, or if the treatment didn't kill it all, you'd have a roaming bacterial infection.

Fvck ticks. Everytime I see those things on me I flick them off as quickly as I can, then realize how stupid it was and that there is now a tick crawling around the room, therefore I stay out of it for a few days. Yes, I'm a little puss, but those things are bastards.

I hate ticks, though I've only gotten one on me when I visited Poland a couple years ago. Of all places, the damn bug latched onto my balls. Ripping that fcker off was a bitch. 🙁

It's Lyme, not lime.
Also, I've been bitten by ticks and such, but I was most likely born w/ Lyme disease. Many more people have it than know (I just found out this year, because my doc found out she had a variant of it and all the symptoms matched up...tests did, too).

In some states it has become very much a political issue, and the CDC's info is somewhat out of date. They don't seem to want much involvement, and will likely not change their info unti, several current long-term studies get real data that can be used (maybe 5-10 years).

Much better link

Crap, I've had a lot of those symptoms for a over a year and many doctors could not diagnose my illness.
None have every mentioned lyme disease.
I was a perfectly healthy person up until a year ago but I don't recall having a rash.
Unexplained symptoms appeared, and got progressively got worse.

Could I have lyme disease?
There is no cure right?

I've had them all, some coming and going, some constant, my entire life and had various diagnoses(sp). Diagnosis of Lyme disease happened, and treatment works, though not as well as for my mom. However, I need some of the same surgeries as she has had (for sleep apnea, which doesn't help, either), but I'm a bit scared 🙂

A crapload of antibiotics during some episode when your body is fighting it, but otherwise, yeah. Google "bowen lyme", as I'm getting tired and don't want to get flamed for gramattical missteps.

There are currently some private and university studies going on, as there is some evidence that it may not only be ticks, but that any insect or arachnid may be a carrier. Also studies going on for those diagnosed that had various tick bites and were diagnosed, but got no rash.

while on vacation i had a tick. it was on my ankle we had to look up how to get it out heh.

every site wanted like $40 to check it out. i just flushed it down the toilet.

Before I lost my spleen, there was one time where I found a tick had crawled under my tank top... not a good feeling.

After I lost my spleen, docs told me never to go to areas with ticks. Don't know the exact reason (spleen is supposed to be useless as an adult)... but I'll just listen to them. I think bad things will happen.
