Have you burnt an Athlon XP? If so, at what temperature?

Hi there, I wonder what temperature your Athlon XPs were when they didn't wanna live anymore!
The reason I wonder is because mine maxes at 78 degreec celsius right now measured on an Epox 8KHA+. I know that these thermal sensors isn't that accurate but I can't measure any other way.

I'm aware that 80 degrees (my new temp record 😉) is pretty high. My sys temp was 37 degrees at max. I can cool it down to under 50 degrees if I want. But I want to have a quiet system, but not a dead cpu. I don't mind a cpu temp at 80degrees max if the cpu can do it and that's why I wonder at what temperature an athlon xp will get fried. I've read 90-95 degrees at amds site but I wanna hear what your experiences are.
Thanks

I'M USING MY ESP MENTAL POWERS...

I SEE THAT U DON'T USE THERMAL COMPOUND... I SEE THAT U USE THERMAL PADS... I SEE THAT U DID NOT REMOVE THE PLASTIC COVERING FROM THE THERMAL PAD BEFORE MOUNTING IT ON UR CPU... THE PICTURE IS STARTING TO FADE.

One thing to note is that the temperature you are reading is lower than the actuall die temperature. Your chip is probably at the 90deg mark already. Be carefull with that cpu. You may just be telling us all what the limit is.:Q
