Have y'all ever noticed how people drive when they see a cop? It's hilarious! They never pass up the cop. They always stay behind. I know it's the smart thing to do. But it's still funny.

Sometimes I see people brake randomly on the highway, with no one in front of them and for no apparent reason. Five seconds later, I see the reason - a radaring cop

Good times. Cops stand out.

reminds me of a time I went driving with my friend who had this device that made radar detectors go off (im guessing some sort of radar :p) and he would use it while driving on the higway. You get behind a pack of cars and see EVERYONE'S brake lights light up the second we hit it :p good times

Not always true. I've passed cops and have seen others pass cops when they are going less than the posted limit.

One of my coworkers creeped by a cop and was pulled over and given a warning. He couldn't have been going more than 1mph more than said cop. So, yeah, I can understand why people won't pass a cop unless it's clear that the cop is travelling well below the posted speed limit.

That is one of the tricks cops use in states where radar detectors are illegal.

I like it when a whole line of traffic slows down to the exact same speed at the exact same time when a cop comes around.

Maybe that's because cops usually drive at or above the speed limit, and if you pass them they'll give you a ticket.

What I find funny but annoying is when everyone slows down when the see the cop who already has someone pulled over and is talking to them at the window. Like he's gonna drop everything , jump back in his car, and chase you because you're going 75!

It's a law to slow down next to a cop that has pulled someone over.

you are also supposed to get out of the closest lane. (If I remember, maybe im lieing about this one).

In some states you have to move out of the closest lane OR slow down, but not both.

and most of the cops I see drive in the left lane for some reason. Its like they dare you to pass them... so I do. Just never more than 10 mph above the limit.

I will pass a town cop on a highway but never a state cop.

on a normal road if it is two lanes I will pass a cop if I am not speeding. If its a state cop...i wont care about passing them while speeding not on a highway. not talking abou treckless speeding 5-10 over

I've passed cops plenty of times on the highway, just seems like everyone else is to afraid to do so.

As long as I'm under 10mph over then I'm not getting pulled over.

True, but what annoys me are when all 4 lanes of traffic suddenly start braking in front of me when a cop has someone pulled over in the breakdown lane.

agreed....more accidents are caused.

I have seen highways around minneapolis do that and it actually puts the highway to a hault if EVERYONE does it....

f*cking slinky effect.

Me too, but I'm taking a chance when I do because my speedometer doesn't work these days.

I figure it's got to be frustrating for the cop to be stuck in a pocket of traffic strictly observing the speed limit.

In Dallas the cops will do rolling roadblocks. A line of cops traveling at the speed limit side by side not allowing room for passing.
