I installed WinME on her computer and also setup her whole system in her room.. I was wondering, how do I allow her to type Korean (hangul)? I bought a keyboard that also has the korean characters on there, but was wondering what I can do? Thanks in advance..

Just install the Korean keyboard drivers, too. Windows will set an icon in the taskbar, that let you decide by a click, which language to take...at least unter Win2000.

<= sitting in front of a Laptop with Hangul support...
Hmm, does AT support this... ?Ccedil;?aelig;

EDIT: nope ;)

well you can do this.. I know this is true for 98, and 95.. as well as 2000

Undercontrol panel the keyboard appletyou got to set the keyboard as Korean as a keyboard locale's.

Next you got install that font..

then your ready to go.. just make sure your mom when typing the email in outlook or what ever chooses that korean font.. I will assume the other end has to have it too.

Well, I figure she would either use Outlook or even like a yhoo type of interface to type the characters.. and it's up to the other end to have the reader enabled or some such. I know I can go under View, Encoding, and select Korean as the language to read the fonts.. but trying to figure out the typing process. I'll try what you said.. thx.

I tried doing "add language", but it doesn't have Korean in the dropdown selection. Any other suggestions on how to get that dropdown to display the font?

-sorry duno 'bout the vietnamese one.. i got my keyboard from a friend actually..

MS has foriegn versions of windows that change everything in the os, all the windows, menus everything, if you just want to change the font when typing emails you should just download a korean ttf font and have word embed the font in the doc ument so other people can reaxd it.

I think there is like Unionway or some other shareware out there.. but was wondering if it waas built in WIndows yet.. oh well..

Just go under global options in control panel, and switch the main language.

Where is the global options in the control panel? Are you talking about the regional settings? It doesn't give me the choice for the language Korean there..

Any other ideas anyone??

You will need to install the Global IME from Microsoft, along with Korean font support. That will allow multilingual input and viewing on your box. Win2k does it better, but WinME can do it fine.

For others to read what you type if you're using an IME, they have to have the IME installed as well.

I installed the Japanese IME for my mom and she loves it. But she sends me emails with Japanese in them and I can't read them b/c I dont have the IME or an IME compatible mail prog
