Have we discovered earth to its fullest extent?

Even with our current technology, are there places that we still cannot go? (the deepest pits of the ocean, heavy rainforests, etc?)

Have we accounted for ALL the creatures on the face of the earth? I don't care about small and microscopic creatures..

How deep is the deepest pit on earth anyway? And where is it? Do we know what dwells there? Can we actually get to the bottom of the pit?

*feeling mysterious*

The deepest trench in the Pacific is over 5 miles below sea level. We have not full explored the oceans. We also have not fully explored Antartica. There is land under that ice shelf. There are also many unexplored caves in the Earth.

1. yeah we cannot go to the center of the earth no matter what that movie says

2. maybe, we even have a few that really aren't on the earth too like the yeti, lochness monster, real lipstick lesbians

3. i think that it is the mariana trench in the pacific ocean, but don't quote me i'm too lazy to look it up in google like some other people.

4. what dwells there...hmmm, that's a good one....i'm guessing things that like the dark a lot.

5. too lazy to look at google again...damn i'm lazy

*feeling dumb now that i replied*

LOL, thanks for your response.

New animals are being discovered all of the time. Not always simple microscopic creatures or ocean dwelling ones either. Deep in areas that are rarely ventured into they have found new species. There have been some more recent discoveries but a book I am reading about the Vietnam war happened to touch on a group of scientists that in 1992 found a never before seen forest goat that was three feet tall and weighed more than 200lbs. They also catalogued a new type of bird and yellow-shelled turtle.

If we're finding things like that in hard to reach places imagine what could be lurking in parts unknown that we can't get to yet.

there are huge amounts of undiscovered species on the planet. we are a long way from knowing everything about earth, and most likely will never know.

maybe thats why we turned to space...to big to fvck up

We're already well on our way. There's tons of debris in orbit around Earth right now from previous space missions, defunct satellites, etc. It's only going to get worse over time. Makes it a lot more difficult to be in orbit if you have to be concerned about getting smacked by some random thing floating around out there.
