I've read good things about it, but since the market's already saturated with war based FPS's, I can't see it breaking any new grounds. Just get BF1942 or CS if your computer sucks.

WWII has been done, and nobody cares about Korea, Vietnam sims are the next big thing. I'm waiting for one that will be more like Platoon than Rambo.

I'd say it's much better than MOHAA. It's certainly not as scripted, which isn't saying much.

+ Need to use cover to survive.
+ AI uses cover very well.
+ People/objects blend into the jungle nicely.
+ Chaos of war has been communicated well to the player.
+ Online play is pretty balanced when snipers and radiomen are limited to 2/ side (I just play CTF)

- Tunnel levels were made poorly.
- Graphics are nice... not great.
- Missions are not very realistic.
- Some AI scenes were scripted poorly and need trickery to pass the mission.
- Online code is a bit twitchy... very similar to CS. (you can get shot several times and turn around and still kill the guy)

i played the multiplayer demo a while ago, and it was good fun.

haven't gone back to it in a whle.

You want war sim. Skip the FPS's . . . they don't last, and buy IL2:FB.

this fighter sim has absolutely the best multiplayer I have ever experienced . . . when you get in an 8 on 8 dogfight only . . . . . especially in that game . . . . . it is rocking.

that game rulez, the best and most realistic shooter i ever played so far following operation flashpoint. It received full stars from Computer Games and also very high rating from PC GAmers.

Graphics are awesome too, probly the best looking jungle rendered on the PC complete with frogs, butterflies, birds etc....you need a fairly powerful system to enjoy the game though.

Thats the first game Im getting when I get back from basic. Should be awesome!

Rome - Total war in january should kick some major ass too.

About Vietcong, I have only tried the demo, but it seemed ok. I'm just too scared of spending money on it, if I don't like it.

It's pretty good. New patch imporvedf graphics for me a good deal. I don't play the single player anymore, just the online, pretty fun. I would say it is a notch below BH Down, but single player is a bit easier.

I like it. Puts me back in the jungle. Every time I'm out cutting my grass or something and I hear a copper passing overhead, i jump and dive under the deck... The war really had an impact on me.

I've only played the demo, but even the demo kicks CS, BHD, and CW's a$$! You cannot get that any better jungle shooting action w/o using a time machine! I'm ready to upgrade to the full version.

my favorite part of the game is manning the m60 on the Huey and ripping those vietcongs and NVA to shreds. You actually need accuracy to hit anything unlike BHD where you just aim in the vacinity of someone and you hit them already. and the rendering of the Hueys look awesome. i wish some of the helo sims would render their choppers like the Hueys in vietcong. overall, an awesome game and once you're done with single player, there's always online play.
