"16 bit Windows Subsystem : SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\VirtualDeviceDrivers. VDD. Virtual Device Driver format in the registry is invalid. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application."

I get this when I try to install HL off of the CD...i had it installed, but i had to uninstall it..i dont know, when i click ignore, it doesnt work...i went to the registry and looked at the value of that key...lotsa numbers and it said something bout a Symantec DLL...i have Systemworks and i run windoctor (my bro swears by this proggy, i hate it..btw, do any of u know if it actually hurts ur system?). It has me stumped, and I really dont want to have to reformat...Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have Norton INstalled? THe only time that I have seen this is when a registry key for Norton gets corrupted. I will have to go to work to see what the key is. I'll try to post the key later.

Systemworks is not that great of a utility...it changes many system files. When Systemworks or W2KP go screwy, it is almost impossible to fix without a reinstall...
