So I took this job and theres a clause in the contract that states I have to give a written notice 3 months before my contract is up to prevent my contract from auto-renewing. Well the contract is up at the end of june so I have to give notice this coming thursday. I'm at a quandry on what exactly to write though. I would consider staying with the company if a few things improved but i don't know if thats appropriate to put in the letter.
Anyone written a good resignation letter that didn't leave the bosses with a horrible taste in their mouth? I want to part, if i do, on fairly good terms. Its been a fairly good place to work its just theres a lot of uncertanty and lack of faith in workers right now thats creating a very uneasy work environment.
Yes i've seen the Zantex one and i prefer not to go that route (even though the person writting it has a very similar job sounds like ;))

Just be honest. It doesn't have to be long either, just a few sentences stating that you don't want your contract renewed and why. If they want more detail, they will just interview you.

Do NOT put why you are resigning in the letter. If they are interested in keeping you as an employee, then they will contact you with offers.

State simply that you wish to resign. Be positive.

Dear Mr. X:

This letter is to inform you that I will not be renewing my employment contract when it expires on June XX.

Sincerely,
Drakkon

That's all you need to say. The more you write, the greater chance that something will be taken wrong.
