Have to install new car antenna - any idea how I do it?

My fiance's car, a 1986 Mercedes Benx 560 SEC, had its power antenna pulled out by a nice neighborhood boy... 🙂|)

Anyway, I have the part, which is an antenna with a long plastic tail on it. Any idea how I install this? The plastic tail has teeth that the motor bites on to raise and lower the antenna. I guess I will figure it out, but if anyone has some words of wisdom, I am all ears.

First thing you'll need to make sure there isn't any of the old plastic
pieces left in the motor. I'm not familiar with Benz, but on most
vehicles you have to remove the trim nut on the outside of the body.
Its usually chrome and it just spins off. Then find and remove the
motor.

After you make sure there aren't pieces left in the motor and have
reinstalled it you can put the new one in. You'll may need to leave that
chrome nut off the top, check and see if the antenae goes all the way
through it.

Have someone else turn the radio on until
the motor stops, then have them turn it off and when the motor
starts going, push the plastic part down until the motor grabs
it and pulls it down and you just guide it in.
