have temporary sense of smell/taste

Ever since I got back from Fort Leonard, Missiouri on March 13 I haven't been able to smell or taste correctly. When I came back to Los Angeles I got really sick and was basically in bed for a week. I went to the doctor and he helped me with my cough that I had and he said the medicine should help my sinuses but it didn't. It not like my nose is clogged up, I can breathe fine. Any suggestions? Do you think it can be perminant?
 
I had a really bad cold that resulted in that about a year ago. Just take whatever meds you get.. I suppose Flonase and an antibiotic should help.. But yeah you'll slowly get your taste back. I had to deal without smell/taste for about a month. It got really annoying. :\
