Have Sprint -- Going to Italy -- Need Phone Service -- What to do?

Sprint actually offers GSM phone rental, but all they had was a G3 Razr which was $70 for two weeks plus $20 shipping + $1.29/min in Italy.

Can I do better than this? The operator mentioned that there may be prepaid GSM phones and phone cards in the VCE airport, but I figure they're probably charging a billion dollars for that...

Any ideas?

2)buy prepaid SIM when you arrive

prepaid sim cards are cheap. just get an unlocked quad band from ebay and you'll be set.
