Didn't know where to post so bear with me if it's in the wrong spot.
I want to setup RAID0. I have an ASUS K7M Mobo and an Iwill side-raid66,(1) WD 20g,(1)maxtor 40g. First of all, do I need both hard drives to be the same brand? What I'm saying is with there be conflicts if they are different hard drives? Do both hard drives have to be setup on the card (As two masters) or can one be on the IDE from the mobo and the other be on the IDE from the card? Any knowledge in this area would be great.
thanks in advance

With RAID 0, you will only end up with 40GB of useable space with those drives. No need to cheat yourself of the remaining 20GB.

But if you insist, search these forums for "raid". I'm sure you'll find more that you've bargained for.

they both need to be connected to raid ide connections, whether it's a separate card or on your motherboard. it's best if they are both set to master, one on the primary and the other on the secondary

I've decided to set it up on my other PC, it has two identical hard drives. I can get the bios for the RAID card to recognize both hard drives. but it still wont boot.It has an option to set the mode in the "set device mode" . any input?
