yea... rca is obviously rebadging something cheap from china or korea, but I can see that happening. 4k isn't just for the rich, it has been pretty affordable (but still premium priced) since it came out.

Rebranded. Chances are it's a TV you can pick up even cheaper directly from the manufacturer.

When I was looking at the first 4k TV's from Sony a couple years ago (not sure if it's really been that long), a 50" was over $11,000. Then going back maybe a few months or a year later, it was a little over $6,000. I was tempted, but I decided to wait.

Over the weekend, I ended up getting a 4K Vizio 43" for under $600.00 for the bedroom :)

good price, but why? you're not going to get any benefit of 4K resolution at that size (unless you're sitting a couple feet away from the screen)

It was cheap and was on sale, and not much more than a 1080P Samsung I sold of the same size. It's in my bedroom as well which sits on a dresser to the left of my bed less than 4' feet away. One of these days, I may even switch it out to be my main computer monitor :)

There is more to 4k than just resolution...the color depth is better with 4k which can make an image look better...whether or not you can tell or is worth the extra $$ is up to the buyer and how the set is adjusted...
