Well, do you just want to compete ? or contribute to some type of project ? Myself, I like to do medical, since I lost to cancer.

For competitions we take part in the year long event hosted by boincgames.com. They run marathons that last a whole year broken into 4 quarters and 6 sprints that last a couple days.

Primegrid Challenge series which are sprints ranging from 1 to 10 days long with I believe 12 of them a year.

The Pentathlon that starts may 5th and last two weeks which involves 5 different projects during that time.

For medial BOINC has a range of projects in that field. From WorldCommunityGrid, Sidock,

And there is Folding at Home which is medical in nature, but not part of the BOINC group of projects.

Ricky.
For GPU I use F@H. For 20 years its been easy to get work to do.

For CPU I use WCG and Rosetta which are part of BOINC.

As far as my medical situation, removing my bladder and prostate and gall bladder seems to have removed my cancer, but I lost all hearing and balance due to "sudden deafness" caused by cancer drugs. And I just had a stroke, which I have pretty much recovered from now.

WCG has work more often, but right now Rosetta has been available for over a week.

Just run both. Rosetta@home runs out of tasks frequently and WCG is well, I don't know WCG knows what WCG is doing, so there's that.

Just attach both projects and let BOINC decide on which one to run.

(Just make sure you don't select GPU units on WCG since WCG does have the occasional GPU WU)
