I know that the USB C cable thing had a rough patch with people making cables that could harm devices.

I'm moving from an iphone to a pixel 2. If I get a good usb c to a cable (as approved by the usb c cable guru Besnon Leung) - can I continue to use accessories for other phones such as power banks without danger of harm to the device? I've noticed there are now usb c powerbanks and such that are pricey.

Also as far as wall chargers & car chargers are concerned. Can I safely use wall & car chargers I was using with my iphone with the new cables? I know that it may not charge as fast. I'm ok with that, especially at the bedside, etc - just wondering if there are any lingering concerns.

Thanks for any information, I have not switched phone OS's in a long long time.

With USB-C it's only the cable that's changed. Everything else has stayed the same with chargers etc. My son uses my Asus power bank on his Huawei P9 and I also use it on my P10 with no ill effects.

Doesn't Google push USB Power delivery, as opposed to QC?

I'm so confused by this fragmentation. I wish it was somehow mandatory that all chargers/cables/phones HAVE to support USB PD, and than if there is something better, tack it on top of that.
