i have a motherboard...cpu...ram...all components except a case. I have a 300 watt enhance powersupply. how do i turn it on without a start button? not possible right?

Quite possible - quickest way would just be to touch the two power pins with a piece of metal like the end of a screwdriver; when I'm stripping old cases I keep the reset switch with it's wire and save them for times like this when you need a power button for an ATX board. 😉

LOTS of us in the Distributed Computing forum are running machines naked..er, caseless. 😀

* Look HERE for a great series of pictures of various "crackracks" dedicated to the Seti@Home project - nearly all are running caseless. 🙂

Thanx for the tech support reply...i had stolen the power button and got my mobo runnin....but i am gunna try yer screwdrive trick for now so i can put power button back on my pc....that link was very useful also thanx!

A friend of mine just had his sitting on a piece of glass...
No case, no nothing. It ran fine, but I wouldn't suggest overclocking too much.
