Hi all,

Thanks for looking. I just build a new system for a friend. She has a proprietary photo editing program on her old computer and I need to transfer it to the new system.

I installed Acronis 7 (Free from internet). How do I actually transfer it.

1. It is in a partition that is 40gb with the operating system.
2. I just want to transfer over the editing software and some games she had installed.

Do I transfer the complete partition and then uninstall what she doesnt want?

I built the new system with only 1 partition. Will this mess me up?

I am clueless. Any help would be great.

Thanks, Leigh

[*]What OS is on the old pc?
[*]Doesn't she have the cd to reinstall the photo editing program? If not suggest she acquire it somehow.
[*]If you clone the old drive and restore it on the new one you may be in for a surprise when the OS refuses to load. You may need to perform a repair install if she had XP.
[*]Pull the old drive from the pc and slave it to the new one to xfer data, use a flash drive, or maybe the data will fit on a cdr.
