have metro pcs need a new phone...

i'm looking for reccomendations on a new phone that works with metro pcs either out of the box or flashed. i had an iphone but at&t high rates are too much for me.

i'd like to know what would be the best phone similar to the iphone? i was looking at buying a droid and flashing it to metro pcs, would really like a few suggestions here, thanks

(yes i have to use metro pcs at the moment)
 
I can't remember the name, but if you live in one of the LTE markets they have a new LTE capable Samsung Android phone.
 
Make sure you live in a CDMA coverage area before you buy a standard Verizon smartphone for porting. Some regions (like NYC) only have coverage on their proprietary phones.

I think MetroPCS is getting their own Galaxy S though.
