I just started looking for a new job a couple of days ago through internet job sites. I got one call from an insurance company (bleh! I said no) and I got one from a PC/console game company for troubleshooting/tech support for their games (got interview tomorrow).

I got the entire attire/conversation thing ready, but I've don't have much experience in the tech field. I do have my A+ and will be getting my MCSE (...eventually :) ). I don't know much about PC games other than how to play them ;) What can I do to prepare for this interview?

TIA

Challenge them to a deathmatch in UT or Quake. When you finish schooling'em on the basics, show'em you're madd 1337 rail skillz...;)

Unless they ask you intensely detailed questions, I wouldn't worry much.

Sounds like installation, software, and hardware trouble shooting. So, ask questions and be prepared to detail your experiences with said subject. I'm sure there is training and probably scripted answers are part of the job description. Treat it like any other job. There's probably no reason to have i33t skillz, just an understanding of how everything works together. That way you will know what scripted reply to give when an end user asks for support. Good luck.

ask them questions, act like you really like this position, if you dont ask any question, they might think that you are not interested. goto their website, and
learn something about the company and their games, etc... tell them that you are a team player, work well with others, BS stuff like that.

good luck

Be prepared to answer questions like "How have you handled irate customers before?" etc. I bet it will mostly be situational questions so just be show them that you would keep a cool head and respond intelligently. Sound enthusiastic about the company and read up a bit on them and their games. Whatever it takes for you to feel confident going in.
