Have I screwed up with Prime?

Hi

In the settings I think I changed the ram to be used from 8mb to 1024mb. Will this affect its ability to test my pc properly.

I have run Super Pi 32M and 8hr of Torture test with Prime 95, small FFTs.

I will also run 3d mark 06 and maybe 3d mark 01.

Is all this enough to make sure that it is stable enough?

Have I done a mistake to Prime settings?

Try what?

At the settings I tried, it was fine for 8hrs, super pi 32M is fine. I will try 3d mark 06 now.

Do I need to do prime again with 8mb?

What's wrong with your computer now?

I want to ask whether settings the memory option to 1024mb instead of 8mb for FFTs small will ruin the results or not.

Also, it passed 8hr prime but encountered an error with 3d mark 06.
I could play even UT04.

Is there a corruption problem, had it been unstability won't it have hung or crashed out of windows? Should I increase the volts?

It's either your RAM or PSU. More likely RAM. Did you do memtest?

My psu is more than enough for my system.

I don't know how to exactly do memtest. Can you explain. Anyway my ram is running less than or equal to the manufacturer specs of 400.

I increased the volts to 1.4375 on stock cooling and increased the fan speed of the cabinet fans I think, and now it completes the 3d mark 06 test with around 4920 points.

Is this a joke? He didn't say anything wasn't working, he just wanted to make sure that he was checking correctly.

Go to the CPU sections of the form and the first sticky (first thread) tells you how to do memtest, Prime95 and SuperPI.
You are probably fine but if you want to be sure that Prime95's settings are working just uninstall, reinstall and run it over night on the standard stress-test.

1)I think the only thing I had changed was ram, so I set it to 8mb. Also, there is no stress test. I selected torture test Small FFTs. Currently around 6hrs with a max load of 59C and volts 1.435volts.

2)AT 1.425, it survived the prime 95 test i gave it for 8hrs, then closed it, but failed 3d mark 05/06 in a few minutes.

Also, my score of 3d mark 2001SE is just 27000+, isn't it low?

Memtest86+

Burn it on a CD or floppy.... restart computer.... set the BIOS to boot from the CD or floppy... let Memtest86+ run for at least a couple of hours. There should be no errors shown at all.
