Have fun with this oblivion install issue.

Well here goes, I tried to install Oblivion on my new comp and it goes through the process of insalling then after the screen for the desktop icon and readme the install seems to just stop. The Installshield Wizzard screen just sits there running and the light on my dvd drive stays lit. I can go play the game but even with the chuck patch HDR and AA will not work together. Now comes the fun part if I try and remove the game I get the follwoing messaage below.

After clicking ok to that another wondow opens with the following.

Setup has expierienced and error

Please do the following
Close and running programs
Empty your temporary folder
Check interent connection
Tehn try setup again.

error code -5001


I already had this game installed on my old system without any hitches now I have this. Well there ya have it if anyone has any info on this please let me know.

you see, the game loves your magnetic metal data recording harddrive box thingy -- it doesn't want to be zeroed and deleted by the dreaded metal arm sword+5 aka the platters grim reaper, so thus, it is trying to spite you for thinking of zeroing it. Bad idea apparently.

I posted here and on the obliv forums cause it was late and didnt expect much of a response, but too my amazement I got one rather quickly and fixed the issues. I must say the game looks SICK on my new comp and I havent even modded or tweaked it.
