Hi all,

I just bought a new 27" lcd capable of going to 2560x1440 resolution (Auria from Microcenter), and I have both a Radeon 6950 and DVI-D dual link cable (Gigaware version). I'm currently using Windows 8 64bit.

I've tried everything to get the resolution to show 2560x1440, but nothing seems to work.

Any ideas?

Well, there are often dual link and single link connections on cards. Are you sure you are using the correct one?

I think the top DVI is the dual-link one.

Are you sure it's DVI-DL? Check the pin out on the cable. DVI-DL for 2560x1440/1600 has a very specific pin out requirement, I have a feeling that your cable isn't actually DVI-DL. Also ensure that you're using the proper port on the card.

In either event, try the opposite slot.

Also as others said, make sure the cable is DVI-D. If you aren't sure, you can take a picture of one of the ends (showing the pins) and we can tell you!
