Am using a PCP&P in my 939 board windchester 3500. and a OCZ 520 in the other board, UTILIZES 2 STICKS OF OCS Patitlum R2 3200, 2 sticks of 540. Other board has a 275 opteron with a PCP&P. Utilizes OCZ platinum R2 3200 2.2.2.5.5

Seems from what I read the ram would have to go, board would have to go, drives I think could stay, sound card (i don't know for sure (creative zgamer on both).

Would surely have to get a card for either new board. Well, that is what would probably break the camels back. Both cards are peforming admiralable so unless their is a "new" revelation with these cores its pretty much a no brainer to wait for another generation to to bust loose in a year or two. Take advantage of what I have now and watch how the ball bounces.

Have been away from the forum but from what little I have read it appears conroe may have, or will, go around AMD in certain regards. No problem...it good for growth. But in the back of my head was just wondering what I could use from my rigs as they are.

IF that conroe is going to provide 70% increase in peformance that would be a giant leap for technology...don't think I wil hold my breathe until we see some quanitfying results.....

Yea im building one now that will last me till ddr3 / vista / some new chip set either intel or AMD2 (worth it) / and DX10 video cards.

Won't do a thing until then...
I'll use my new build as backup, and give this machine to a niece or nephew.

New build is coming along nicely, just have to order PSU and ram.
