Have ATi Radeon 9800 non-Pros definately been discontinued?

I'm looking at getting one from a UK place with 28 in stock for a nice price, but I don't have all the £££ right now.

Knowing this place, they'll have sold out in 5 days (by which time I'll have the money), I could borrow some, but have the 9800 non-pro's been discontinued and retailers only have their current stocks, or will places be able to get more in?

Technically ATI has not discontinued the 9800np, but they appear to have stopped allowing third parties to sell or market it for some reason.

I was lucky enough to buy a 9800np a couple of weeks ago. At that time, it was very hard to find them. I just lucked out and found one at Best Buy - USA ($240). I was at BB today looking around and noticed that they no longer have any new or open box returns of 9800's. I know nothing official, but all indications are that the 9800np is history. My advice; grab one while you can!

I'll just have to hope that they don't sell the 28 they have in stock by Saturday, or it'll be 5900 for me :(

I think the 9800NP is discontinued. I RMA a Radeon 9800NP a couple of week ago, and ATi sent me a Radeon 9800 Pro to replace it.

You made out real good. I had thought about this. I just got my ATI 9800np retail with its 3 year ATI warranty. If it should fail in 2 or 3 years, maybe by then I would get a 9900XT! Now that would be a good deal!
