have anyone seen an OCR program that scan a page into an excel format...?

my boss gave me 20 page of excel print out and wants me to either re-type it (which she doesn't want to coz that is just plain waste of time), or find a way to scan it. me and the IT dept talked about it and said OCR can only scan it to .txt file, but definitely not into excel format.

is there a way around it?

If the OCR software leaves spaces between each field, then maybe you can scan it and parse it into CSV.
