Have any of you rma'd ddr to corsair lately?

Last week I had to rma a matched 2gb pair of 3500LLpro ddr, the stuff with the usage led's on them. It took corsair over a week to get back to me even though they are supposed to ship the replacement within 3 days of receiving the bad ram. Well after I initiated contact with them they finally tell me that they no longer have any of the stuff I sent back. They then offer me two low grade trades, not even close to the same quality of the sticks I returned to them and I'm not particularly happy about it. I counterproposed a comparable set and I expect for it to take until the middle of next week for them to respond. I am not happy with corsair at this point although I've heard great stories from other people who've dealt with them. What do you guys think?

The way I see it is this... If they don't have it, they don't have it. Are you wanting them to go and make the RAM for you to send it back for your RMA?

No I expect for them to replace it with ram of equal value and they are trying to get away with low end sticks and I won't accept it.

I just bought 4gb of xms2 pc6400 which I'm running in this machine so I won't be buying any more ram anytime soon. One of the sets they offered me was pc5400 (ddr2667) which is not going to cut it. I bought the most expensive matched sticks they had and now they're trying to get away on the cheap and it isn't right. I told them so in a nice way and suggested they replace it with a comparible grade of ddr2. I'm still waiting for them to get back to me. It really irkes me that they failed to follow their policy of a 3 day turnaround and in this case they failed to contact me to let me know anything and I had to initiate contact to find out the status of the rma.

i dont expect manufactures to have extra set of every item they ever made, incase for the RMA, but I expect them to replace with eqaul or better if they dont have it
This is first time I'm hearing manufacture offering lesser for replacement
usually if they dont have same one, they send you back something better(OCZ!!!)

My one time doing an RMA with Corsair (2GB XMS kit), and I ended up with modules that wouldn't run at rated speeds. :|

I used to swear by Corsair, but the last couple times I used their high performance RAM I had nothing but problems ranging from several rounds of RMA replacements that were bad or DOA upon receipt to PC6400 that wouldn't run at rated speeds. The last two times I bought their Value-RAM, I received memory that was defective upon receipt too, so personally I'm done with them for awhile.

Lately I use Mushkin or Crucial for high performance & Kingston for Value-RAM because they seem to be the most reliable.

Yeah I believe that we are going to go back to mushkin, crucial or kingston for a while. I'm pretty much done with corsair especially after this mess. And to think about how much of their stuff we are running right now.

All these circumstances are pretty discouraging coming from, what I thought was, a first class company. Bummer!

Crucial's customer support is pretty good, and I would have thought Corsair would be better than that. Make sure you get something that is equal to or better than what you sent them.

Well corsair just got back to me with two choices, accept some pc6400 or take a refund but they require a receipt. I know they hoped that I didn't have my receipt but I have all of my receipts and kindly forwarded it to them accepting the refund. I wonder how long it will take them to cut my check so I can go buy some crucial memory?
