My partners and I are considering using a website to get the documents prepared since they are pretty much boiler plate.

Any experience with sites like http://www.legalzoom.com/index.html ?

Any things i should watch out for or know about in advance?

thanks,
Ameesh

If I had to do it again I'd probably do it myself, since it would be cheaper.

Only thing I would say to watch out for, if you're in california, is the mandatory $800 minimum tax to do business. Although I think it's waived for the first year now.

Nolo is good. If you have specific questions, feel free to PM me since we're in the same area -- Kate and I started one six months ago and have been through all the filings, etc. The King county library has certainly been her friend recently. :)

What are you getting into?

I had my attorney draw up my LLC that cost me $900 but at least I'm fairly confident it was done correctly.

Is it worth getting for the average joe that does a little work on the side? Or should I just stick to the "under the table" cash method?

think about the areas of your business where you would have bankrupcy or litigation risk and scan the doc for weaknesses,
