Title pretty much sums it up. Have you ever received a phone call and then asked if you were your mom or dad.. or someone calling for you and asked if your mom/dad were home.

PS. Kavlin has....

He was mistaken for his mom! :Q

No, but people often mistake me for the answering machine. Do I really sound that robotic?

Just the opposite. I am almost always mistaken for my son. I can have a lot of fun when I feel a little devilish.

my sister gets mistaken for my mom all the time, though.

Nope! I've had the opposite of that. I had someone ask if my mom or dad was home the other day. I responded to this by saying, no I'm an adult and then told her I wasn't interested in anything she was selling.

See I use that to my advantage.. I always get the "is your mom or dad home" so its a red flag that they are selling something.. I just respond and say "no, they cant come to the phone right now" and hang up :)

Yeah, I get mistaken for my Dad, and my uncle on the phone.
I get mistaken for my mom, because her first name is Robin, and sometimes people don't know.

I also occasionally pretend to be my parents, it makes calling people like COMCAST easier.

I used to get mistaken for my dad even after I say my name on the phone. It's probably because I have the same name as him (i'm the 3rd).

I was always mistaken for my dad when I lived at home. Probably because my dad and I have the same name. After awhile, his friends who called would ask for "Big Van."
