Have an Athlon XP2500+ with DDR1 PC 3200

Hi All,

I want a new video card, cpu and mobo with PCI Express, I want SATA onboard, but I'd like to keep my current IDE hd's and PC3200 DDR ram, what can I do? I've been out of the loop too long!

Over on the FS/FT forum look for a Biostar Tforce6100 , Asrock Dual SATA II or ASUS A8N5X for a mobo as they can all be had for $50 or less shipped.

For Cpu's the 3000+ can be had for about $40 shipped there.

For video it depends, in the $50 ish range you have the 6600GT and that would be the only one I'd bother with in the low end range as you prob don't want anything slower.

In the $75 - $100 range you got the X800 pro - $850XT and the 6800NU - 6800GT & 7600GT ( which you'd be the best off with )

For DDR you can now find 1gb kits of good BH-5 for $70 shipped or you can settle for a gig of crap PC3200 for $60 - $65 shipped ( it's not worth it when people will ship you good BH-5 or the old school OCZ Plat EL for $5 - $10 more )
