Have a wired router -- should I get a wireless access point or wireless router?

Here's the deal... My house is wired for my network but I recently got a laptop that I want to use wireless. I noticed that the WAPs are more money than a wireless router. Should I just replace my current router with a wireless router, or are there advantages of a WAP over the wireless router?

Thx
Mike

Maybe. A lot of APs are basically the same wireless router without the "router" part and the wired jacks. I'd buy whichever one is cheaper.

Personally, I'd swap out the router for the wireless unit. Why add complexity, I don't see that a WAP is going to give you any advantage here...
