I am having a strange problem and I am not sure what the term is for what is happening. It seems to happen in all games I play. For instance, when playing Gears of War, when I look up and down, a strange wave rolls through the screen almost like when you get interference on a standard television. The wave does not roll continuously but rather moves at the rate that my character is moving and usually only appears when I am looking up or down or turning quickly. Is there a term for this? Does anyone have any suggestions for fixing this?

is this function of the monitor or the video card? I have tried 3 different monitors: 15 inch samsung 152n lcd, the olevia, and a magnavox 32 inch lcd tv and it happens on all three machines. I tried setting the "Wait for vertical refresh" option in the Catalyst settings to "Always On" and it did not make a difference.

Under 'Wait for Vertical refresh' select 'Always on' in the drop down menu. If this doesn't work google 'D3DOverrider' and try that.

I'll try that. I just found the setting in Gears of War to force VSync and it is still happening.

I know when I had an ATI card that vsync would not work in several games and whether using the in game or control center didnt matter. yeah you will probably have to use D3DOverrider.
