have a situation with potential employer

ok I just finished an interview and apparantly I won't hear anything about any offers until May 1st. However I have a non-refundable plane ticket to go to HK on April 28th. Is it ok to tell the employer my situation? if not, what should I do?

Let him know your situation and when you will return. If there is a way, let him know how to contact you in Hong Kong....
