I have a second interview and from the first one i found that they were looking for someone who knew a little about installing/maintaining UNIX. Now i'm a tech support guy in a windows/novell enviroment so i know computers well but the only knowlege i have of unix would be from the few times i'v dabbled with LINUX.

Need to brush up on the basic's of UNIX

thanks a mil

Oh, dont know. They just were asking if i knew how to install it or ever used it.

the company creates systems for electrical companies and sometimes uses unix as the OS, so i'm assuming just install and setup of general UNIX.

If it's Unix TM it's probably Solaris, HP-UX, or AIX. Solris is pretty easy to learn. You can pickup hardware on ebay for a song.

Learn UNIX in 10 minutes.

Maybe this will help?

Using this guide, you should be able to learn the *BASICS* of a Unix based system in under 10 minutes. Topics covered are File systems, Shells, Enviroment variables, Redirection, Pipes, command substitution, searching compression, vi, and how to find help. Excellent tutorial!
